Join us on May 31 and/or June 1 for a great opportunity to expand your abilities with Art & Stitch software (day 1) and QBOT (day 2). Spaces Limited. Day 1, Art & Stitch: In this hands-on digitizing class (bring your laptop) for longarmers with a computerized system you will learn how to create beautiful, creative patterns and become a real artist in the Art and Stitch digitizing program, specially developed for longarm quilting. Learn how to make beautiful patterns, fill shapes with motifs, cross hatching, wave fills, autostipple, creative background fillers. Use those fills inside or around a design, or turn shapes into applique. Learn how to draw from scratch or to trace any image. Art and Stitch will work with all major quilt and/or embroidery formats. We will show you that creating artwork for quilting is within reach, even if you think you can't draw! (register/pay on their website) Day 2, QBOT: Whether you are new to QBOT, or a seasoned advance-level quilter, you'll find great instruction and inspiration from Denise's hands-on lessons. | Online Quilting Retreat - coming in Summer 2012 |
A little about the Quilt. For this year’s retreat quilt project, we’ve selected Dove in the Window, by Glad Creations. This great scrappy quilt is fun to make and looks really pretty on a bed. The quilt measures 86” x 101”, and uses 20 assorted dark batiks in conjunction with a mottled light background batik. The selected fabrics are pulled from several color families, with a variety of batik designs/prints in each. A little about the Quilt Kit. Retreat participants will receive laser-cut batik fabrics for the blocks and pieced border. Yardage for binding also included. |
“An online quilt retreat? What’s that all about?” Well...we’re very excited to tell you: This is a retreat like no other! We’ll have a lot of great things you look forward to in a retreat...but without the travel. And, instead of lasting only a couple of days, it’ll last all winter! We’ll meet several times during the Spring months. We’ll have regularly scheduled live broadcast webinars, focused on teaching the quilt project, Dove in the Window (pictured below); we’ll have a Ladies Nite Out project; we’ll have food, fun, favors, prizes, show-and-share, and much more! We don’t want to give too much away, but it’s sure to be a blast.
